East BLV Panorama
below Easy Queen and South Queen
This page displays a panaoramic scene of the former location
of the laundry building to the backs of the playhouse and the gym
from Ski's former commo hooch. Ski notes the many trees at
Easy's skirts that the ROK army planted.
Photo taken facing northeast from Ski's former commo hooch location behind
the BLV Playhouse. The photo shows Easy's foothills located behind the A and B
Company Sector (which once extended from the left outside the picture to the
main gate). Note walking bridge across the eastern channel tributary from Easy
connecting with the channel from the South Queen tributary at the joint which was
formerly a swirling wash and from which the channel at left extends the length of
the camp to the main gate now preventing yearly flooding.
Buildings at lower left hand corner unknown.
This photo was taken facing due east. To the right of the channel was the
laundry facility and extending to the right was the former location of the officers'
quarters.
This photo was taken facing southeast with Easy Queen in the backdrop.
Note the bridge and the once walkway leading to and crossing the channel and
the staircase to the officers' former quarters in the center of the picture. The
white shack is probably a latrine.
This photo was taken facing due south with South Queen prominent on the
horizon. Note the channel entering from South Queen's tributary and the
T-shaped concrete slab of the former photo lab and bowling lanes. The path that
runs across the foreground leads left to the officers' quarters and right to Brigade
Headquarters.
This photo was also taken facing due south, again with South Queen on the
horizon. Ski says he went mute as he stood with a lump in his throat at the exact
spot where he once bunked thirty-eight years back. The Playhouse would be at
HIS immediate LEFT and the photo lab and bowling lane were once located behind
him at his immediate right. The latrine would be located in front of the pole while
Brigade Headquarters would be on the first rise below the makeshift staircase
and the HHC Quonsets would be barely visible on the rise above the staircase.
RIGHT FACE!!
This photo was taken facing due west with Radio Hill between the Playhouse
and the gym. Ski's former commo hooch was located on the concrete slab
between the yellow chairs and the barbwire coils.
