Curve:        One fourth of a circle

Stroke:        A line in any direction

Syllable:      A character composed two or more         
                  symbols

Symbol:      The written vowel or consonant; a      
                  composition of stokes

Phonics:     SOUND, PRONUNCIATION, The sounds of
                  vowels, consonants, syllables, characters,   
                   etc.

Word:         Single or multiple syllables including             
                    characters
